Project 27 – Rustica Chloe – page 21 of the book.
The smile on the glass head model turned to a frown when the Rustica Cloche was placed on her head….
There is nothing like a complete and total failure to knock the wind out of your sails…. enter the Rustica Chloe. You will notice I haven’t given you the standard dimensions and weight of this project like I usually do.
Nor am I going to make any useful comments at all about the project. I’m not even taking time to flip the photos or improve them at all.
There is nothing about my finished product that could be of benefit to someone else giving it a try. You will notice in the pictures I didn’t even weave in the ends. Even my favorite trick of choosing a stretchy yarn when I’m uncertain about my gauge failed me…..
But I’m looking on the bright side and this is my 27th project on my way to knitting all the patterns in “Sock Yarn – One Skein Wonders – 101 Patterns that Go Way Beyond Socks”. That makes me pretty happy. One thing I was concerned with when starting this journey was my ability to complete the mission. I’m pretty sure now that I can do it – as long as I don’t have too many projects that turn out like this one!
I must admit I’ve been wandering from knitting a bit right now….I’ve completed a couple of quilts. This makes me feel guilty, like I’m not being true to my mission. But instead I will look at it like a little vacation, and I shall come back more energized than ever. Here’s a picture of my beloved Julio trying out the new quilt.
Well, my BBR’s get your chuckles out of this little mishap of a project and be off to conquering your knitting quests!
Knit on! Cindy – The One Skein Wonderwoman

Just remember – the projects that you’re distinctly underwhelmed by act as a measure to show how awesomely fantastic other, happier projects are!
Oh I love that positive spin!
Details! I’m not sure what exactly you don’t like about this. It looks like it would cover one’s eyes. Is that it? Maybe I’m just easily impressed but I think it looks OK!
Well it was bound to happen and I am surprised it wasnt sooner. Sometimes when I look at a design(or even one of my own projects_ I wonder what the designer or me was thinking. This would be one of them/
Maybe you could turn it into a yarn ball holder or toilet paper cover……
Re your comment about finishing your journey. For some reason I was thinking of you and your blog while running today. On any journey I think its good to evaluate where you are and access if continuing down the same path is the correct one. Vacations/ roadside stops are always good
Love your kitty
Thanks Lisa and it pleases me to no end that you thought of me while running…..that is probably as close to exercise as I’ll ever get!
Thank you so very much! I have a scrapbook full such wonders and am feeling grateful that I am not the only one with such results!!
Kathy Rose I love it that you have a scrapbook of these wonders! We should celebrate all parts of life, eh? Good, bad and otherwise! You rock!
